POSITION SUMMARY

The driver is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the box and pick-up trucks in order to deliver and pick-up necessary goods for production and shipping. Driver also responsible for facilities maintenance and landscaping at our Dallas area locations.  

SHIFT: Monday thru Friday 6:50am to 3:20pm 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

• Conduct inspections of vehicle(s) before departing to deliver/pick-up goods
• Ensure timely maintenance and repairs are performed as needed
• Assist with shrink wrapping goods/pallets using a pallet jack (manual or electric) or forklift
• Load product/pallets onto vehicle(s) according to company’s specifications using a pallet jack (manual or electric)
• Deliver orders to internal/external customers
• Ensure zero damage of merchandise during transit
• Unload product/pallets with a pallet jack (manual or electric) or forklift
• Assist with dock cleanup
• Maintain ongoing communication with IC/Receiving Admin. and/or Warehouse Supervisor/Manager
• Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned
• Work under general supervision
• Repair any facilities related issues such as painting, replacement of light bulbs and minor plumbing etc
• Maintain landscaping at all Dallas locations
• Assist maintenance department when needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

Education:  High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Experience:  One to two years previous experience in delivery driver position preferred; previous experience in operation of a forklift preferred.

Two years of facilities maintenance and landscaping preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:     

• Ability to drive a delivery vehicle and maintain a current, valid state driver’s license and driving record
• Proficient knowledge of transportation DOT regulations and procedures
• Facilities maintenance experience
• Landscaping
• Good math and computer skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good organization and attention-to-details
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and skill levels
• Working knowledge of company policies and procedures
• Possess a positive work attitude and a willingness to carry out instructions
• Ability to work independently with periodic consultation and direction
• Ability to express and share knowledge and ideas in a team environment
• Ability to multi-task

Licenses/Certifications:     

• Current driver’s license and driving record in good standing required
• Ability to successfully complete required DOT driver’s certification and successfully complete DOT physical and drug screen, per DOT regulations
