Duties:
The Lester Place Program is a trio of group home in a peaceful setting for adolescents with
intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are looking for direct support professionals to
make a positive difference with the Consumers in the program. The goal of each Consumer is
to learn independence, which is driven by their Behavior Support Plan. You will work within a
diverse population within the special needs community and family. If you are looking for an

On a daily basis, you can expect to:
Relate with adolescents, understand what they are going through in their lives and
build rapport
Attend and accompany academic events, shopping, community integration,
socialization skills, family reunification, and medical visits
Show adolescents that they can change their lives on their own by giving them
direction
Use positive reinforcement and other techniques to keep adolescents on the right
track
Assist in teaching life skills, such as cooking, laundry, chores and cleaning
Get moving and go outside to play basketball, tennis, hiking, bean bag toss and
other activities
Lead by example and have a positive mindset
Assist youth with bathing, feeding, grooming and other daily living skills
Assist with medication administration
Full time and part time positions are available.
Full time benefits include:
3.2 weeks of PTO in first year

Training opportunities provided throughout the year for both FT and PT
employees
$2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked from 11pm Friday through 11pm
Sunday for both FT and PT employees
What do you need?
This position requires either a High School Diploma or equivalent, or a Bachelor's Degree.
Experience working with adolescents is preferred but not required. You must have a valid
driver’s license in good standing.
Legacy will train you on CPR, First Aid, Nurtured Heart, Safe Crisis Management and Ukeru.

Our History
Legacy Treatment Services, a 501c3 nonprofit, was created as a merger between The Drenk Center and The Children’s Home in addition to an affiliation with Community Treatment Solutions.
- The Drenk Center, founded in 1954 by Judge Lester A. Drenk, began as a counseling program for Burlington County juveniles and their families. Since 1954, The Drenk Center has seen a steady expansion of services to meet higher levels of consumer needs in outpatient settings.
- The Children’s Home was established in 1864 as an orphanage for children of the Civil War. Initially only providing custodial care, The Children’s Home responded to community needs in 1937 and became the first agency to employ a social service caseworker and began therapeutic treatment in a residential setting.
- Community Treatment Services (CTS) was created in 1990 as an alternative to residential placement for children and youth. CTS was the first agency designed to serve youth with complex needs in a community setting. The agency went on to expand these services to families and additional multi-faceted needs of children and youth.
Independently, each organization was an expert and preferred provider in the programs and services they delivered. Each agency was known for innovation, responsiveness to the community it served and willingness to do whatever it took to provide top-tier care.
Together, these organizations formed Legacy Treatment Services, a vibrant agency utilizing cutting-edge technology and evidence-based practice in treatment and clinical care. Legacy is committed and positioned to be responsive and meet the increasingly complex needs of vulnerable children, adults and families. We are dedicated to seeking new innovative solutions that help us provide needed services more efficiently while maintaining stable, sustainable growth.
Our programs provide a complement of services for most ages and needs. This continuum of care provides children, adults and families with consistency in care management and aftercare.

We define recovery as the process by which people are able to live, work, learn and participate fully in their communities. Recovery involves recognizing and accepting strengths, limitations and losses, and distinguishing the difference between having a disability and becoming the disability.
