Electric Power Systems, Inc. is a unique company offering a wide range of experience and education in the area of power system operations, design, consultation and studies, petroleum industry controls, and general engineered systems. We provide extensive services from planning studies, design, and construction, to periodic testing and maintenance. We are currently seeking a skilled Mid-Level or Senior Controls System Engineer to join our Anchorage, Alaska or Palmer, Alaska team.
Responsibilities:
This person will be responsible for the design, specifications, and implementation of industrial controls systems utilizing PLC’s and HMI software.
Familiarity with SCADA systems, field devices, operations, network configurations, and industrial communications protocols are required.
This position may also be responsible for field commissioning and construction inspection, quality control, and coordination with engineers and electricians in design and implementation.
The person should have the ability to work in field conditions and perform troubleshooting and corrective action.
It is desirable for the person to have the ability to define budgets and schedules and monitor the progress of projects according to a defined budget and schedule. The person will be expected to develop and maintain client relationships.

Preferred Experience: 3+ Years for Mid-Level or 10+ years for Senior Level

Experience/Qualifications for Mid-Level:
• 3+ years' of experience in automated control system integration (required)
• Setup and maintain industrial communication protocols including but not limited to OPC,
Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3.0, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet (required)
• Experience with Windows PC Operating Systems, Windows Server Operating Systems, and
VM's (required)
• Knowledge of networking and firewall/router configuration (required)
• Experience with SCADA historian and database setup, configuration, and other aspects of database control as it relates to industrial applications (preferred)
• Experience with SEL RTAC and other industrial protocol converter (preferred)
• PLC programming (ladder logic), design including Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, GE/Emerson, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Modicon, etc. (preferred)
Experience/Qualifications for Senior Level:
• 10+ years' of experience in automated control system integration (required)
• Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition (required)
• Core or Gold Certification (preferred)
• Setup and maintain industrial communication protocols including but not limited to OPC, Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3.0, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet (required)
• Experience with Windows PC Operating Systems, Windows Server Operating Systems, and VM's (required)
