Working with a high degree of independence is responsible for wide range of complex design and project management aspects of City-initiated capital improvement projects including, but not limited to, sanitary sewer facilities, water distribution facilities, roadways, sidewalks, shared-use paths, traffic signals, and stormwater conveyance improvements. Works closely with other City divisions (planning, transportation, maintenance, development assistance, permits counter, purchasing, economic development and inspections) and external customers (residents, utility representatives, Denver Water, Metro Water Recovery, consultants, other cities, Colorado Department of Transportation, Mile High Flood District and private contractors) to design, competitively bid and manage construction of high-quality, cost-effective, sustainable and low-maintenance public improvements in a timely manner within a defined budget.
