SEMCOG is seeking an experienced and innovative economic development coordinator to join the Economic and Community Vitality team. The Economic Development Coordinator, reporting to the Manager of Economic and Community Vitality, plays a pivotal role in leading and coordinating SEMCOG’s economic development planning initiatives including local technical assistance on placemaking, business attraction and retention, Main Street and downtown revitalization, equitable community engagement, brownfields and revitalization of underutilized sites, fostering entrepreneurship, and connecting talent with jobs.
The Economic Development Coordinator will focus on developing and maintaining the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), which includes policies and actions that serve to engage community leaders, leverage involvement of the private sector, and establish regional collaboration for economic success.
